Not only is this Random Acts of Kindness Week, but it is
also National Salute to Veteran Patients Week at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities across the country!
This week is an opportunity to pay tribute to the more than 98,000 men
and women Veterans of the US Armed Forces and to increase community awareness
of services available to Veterans. During this week, VA facilities encourage
and welcome citizens to learn about volunteer opportunities and to participate
in volunteer activities at the VA. This week at my local VA, volunteers will be
passing out gifts of appreciation to Veterans each day. Today, I helped pass
out these adorable heart-shaped notepads and pens. My VA will also be hosting a
free “Valentines for Veterans” concert to honor our Heroes! To learn more about
